Join us for an exciting evening of connection as we bring together Manitoba’s vibrant business community for our January edition of WTC Talks.
This month, we’re spotlighting the stories behind two remarkable Manitoba businesses, MicroPilot and Illumia Labs! Hear directly from the people behind their success as they share the unique journeys, challenges, and achievements that have shaped their companies.
Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur, a professional in the field, or simply curious about Manitoba’s thriving business community, this event is your opportunity to connect, learn, and get inspired!
Attendees will learn about the various tax credit programs available to Manitoba businesses. This includes, but is not limited to topics such as the Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit, Community Enterprise Development Tax Credit, Interactive Digital Media, changes / updates to CCA (Capital Cost Allowance), current tax updates for 2025 and tax planning considerations.

Howard Loewen
CEO of MicroPilot Inc.
Howard W. Loewen graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BASC in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science as well as a Masters Degree in Computer Science.
He is the owner, founder and Chief Executive Officer of MicroPilot Inc. Since 2004, MicroPilot has been the world leading manufacturer of professional autopilots for unmanned aerial vehicles and has worked with more than 1500 customers in over 100 countries. MicroPilot autopilots fly a wide range of drones from fixed wing, multirotor, helicopter and transitioning vehicles.
Monica Morosan
Digital Marketing Manager, Illumia Labs
A creative, reliable and high-performing marketing professional, Monica is a Digital Marketing Manager who joined Illumia Labs in May 2022. She is in charge of end-to-end campaigns through marketing automation tools, website management, content creation, landing pages, development of user journey, analyzing sales statistics for marketing campaigns, and developing Brand PR programs to support brand building and completing performance evaluations for employees and contractors. Outside of work, she enjoys teaching Hatha Yoga online, meditation, reading, any activities that relate to mental health and wellbeing, and listening to self-development podcasts.
Monica holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Worcester, UK.
