President, Munro Group

The Munro Group is a Canadian collection of development-focused businesses. It consists of Hugh Munro Construction – a heavy civil construction company, Fort Whyte Lowbedding – a specialty hauling company, Lilyfield Quarry – an aggregate resource supplier, ClearSecure Distribution & Manufacturing – the distributor for RockGlass, and RockScreen. 

Colleen has worked in the family business, Hugh Munro Construction (HMC), since 1977. She was named Secretary/Treasurer in 1982 and became President in 2008. Colleen has worked together with Manitoba government MCSC & MITT to provide training to under represented groups such as immigrants, indigenous and women. 

Colleen is a pioneer for women in the industry. She was the first woman to be appointed Chair of the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association Board of Directors (1996), Past chair Western Canada Road builders & Heavy Construction Association (WCR&HCA) (1998), and she is the past Chair of the Manitoba Construction Sector Council (Dec,2023) and the past Chair of the Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council (Oct,2023) and appointed an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the 38th Engineering Division.
